Our Background
Chichester Counselling Services (CCS) was founded in 1979 and approved by the Charity Commission in 1985 as a charity with a purpose to provide a counselling service for individuals aged 18+ and training for people wishing to become counsellors.
All our counsellors have been rigorously trained and are carefully selected for their skills, experience and suitability. They are fully qualified or undertaking the advanced stage of our training programme in order to complete an accredited professional counselling qualification.
Our training team delivers both entry level (certificate) and higher level (diploma) training in psychodynamic counselling.
We operate from our own premises in central Chichester.

Monitoring and Quality Assurance
We are an organisational member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the national regulatory body for counsellors and psychotherapists and follow the BACP Ethical Framework for the counselling professions.
We use CORE (Clinical Outcomes in Routine Evaluation), a statistically proven outcome measure used widely in counselling and psychotherapy. CORE uses a questionnaire completed by clients both before and after counselling, which demonstrates whether they have made clinical and reliable improvements.
All counsellors are in supervision groups, and involved in case discussion of their client work. Our clinical supervisors monitor the quality of the counselling. This system is intended to ensure that clients are kept safe.
Our Diploma training course is accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). In addition, it is reviewed annually by an External Moderator who provides an independent view of and input to the delivery, process and outcome of the organisation’s Diploma.
