Chichester Counselling Service (CCS) is looking for new trustees, including a new Treasurer, to join our existing Board. You would be responsible for the governance of this highly regarded charity whose main aim is to provide affordable psychodynamic counselling to people in the local area. We also train new counsellors through our long-established and accredited Certificate and Diploma training program.

The time commitment for the role of Trustee is expected to be:

  • Board meetings and other trustee meetings – 4 board meetings + 1 AGM a year, approximately 2 hours in length and held 5-7pm
  • A strategy day to consider the direction of the organisation and a focus on a particular area of the work.
  • Other ad hoc meetings including support for recruitment of key posts and attendance at internal staff meetings (these meetings are voluntary and shared out amongst the Trustees).

The role of Treasurer requires a slightly increased time commitment working alongside the CEO and Finance Manager to ensure the highest standards of financial management, as well as a background in Finance. CCS is in robust financial health but as a small organisation any operational challenge can quickly impact on the finances.

In return for being a Trustee we can offer you the opportunity to join an active and positive board. We have a strong commitment and contribution from our trustees, and our staff work closely to support governance. We are a small team (staff, trustees, and volunteers) with a professional yet personal approach to our work.

To apply please send a covering letter and CV setting out how you meet the core areas of the person specification. Please send these by 25 July 2022 to Interviews will take place over the following weeks. A recruitment pack is available here.
